Board of DirectorsIt is an honor and a privelege to serve on the Board of Directors. It provides a unique opportunity to help shape your child's experience in our program. Every parent that truly cares about their child's youth football or cheer experience should attempt to serve on the Board of Directors at some point during their child's involvement. Please click on the "Board" link to the left for more information about each Board position. There are a total of 12 elected Board positions, plus the Parliamentarian (which is the former President). All Board positions are for a term of 2 years, with half up for election each year. However, occasionally Board members are unable to fulfill their term in office and the positions they vacate are filled by appointment by the President, subject to Board approval. The following positions are elected following odd-numbered seasons (i.e. 1999, 2001, etc.): V.P., Treasurer, Players Agent, Auxiliary President, Publicity Director, and Education Director. The following positions are elected following even-numbered seasons (i.e. 2000, 2002, etc.): President, Secretary, Cheer Director, Ways & Means Director, Equipment Manager, and Athletic Director. The positions are: President Responsible for the overall administration of the program and oversite of the Board of Directors. Vice-President Responsible for filling in for the President if the President is unavailable. Treasurer Responsible for preparing a budget, paying all bills, filing a tax return, and administering the finances of the program. Secretary Takes minutes of all Board meetings and serves on the Publicity and Fundraising committees. Cheer Director Oversees and directs all aspects of the Cheer program. Ways & Means Director Responsible for all fundraising activities including solicting donations/sponsorships, selling advertising in program publications, organizing fundraising events, and managing the sale of fundraising items (such as tee-shirts, hats, etc.) Players Agent Oversees the certification process for all children in the program. In charge of all adminstrative/paperwork requirements from the Conference. Auxiliary President Chief liaison between the Board of Directors and the parents. Coordinates all Snack Bar activities, Picture Day, and Closing Ceremonies. Publicity Director Handles all publicity issues and all communications to parents. Responsbilities include this web site, newsletters, press releases after games, and publicizing all sign-ups and other program events. Equipment Manager Responsible for organizing, storing, handing-out, maintaining, and collecting at the end of the season all equipment and uniforms. Athletic Director Responsible for all facilities including practice fields, game sites, meeting places, and storage facilities. Also, oversees all coaches and city commissioners. In charge of coordinating the free physicals for the children. Education Director Oversees all education-related issues including submitting qualified students to the Little Scholars program, and administering the Louie Areyan Memorial Scholarship Fund. Parliamentarian The former President. Acts as a consultant to the Board, offering the wisdom of experience. City-Wide Volunteer PositionsOur program needs volunteers for the following citywide positions: City Commissioners Commisioners are needed for all of our home games. They oversee all team weigh-ins and enforce all Pop Warner and PCC rules and regulations at our home field. We will train in all aspects of this role. Fundraising Assist the Ways & Means Director with soliciting donations and sponsorships, selling advertising and other fundraising events. Also assist with the publication of the game-day programs and the annual yearbook. Publicity Assist the Publicity Director with all Communications and P.R. duties including this Web site, advertising sign-ups, newsletters, Yearbook, etc. Louie Areyan Memorial Scholarship Fund Assist the Education Director / Little Scholars Coordinator with evaluating all eligile players for the award and help raise funds to endow the the scholarship award. Team PositionsEach team should have the following volunteer positions filled: Coaches/Scouts If you would like to help coach or scout opposing teams, please contact the Head Coach and he will let you know how you can best help the team. General Manager General assistant to the head coach to handle all paperwork duties and ensure that all players are properly certified. Team Mom Handles all team events and is the liaison between the coaches and the parents. The Auxiliary President will coordinate with the Team Mom for each team's day to help in the snack bar. Snack Bar All parents are required to help out on the team's snack bar day per the Snack Bar Agreement. Your Team Mom will be notify you of your day to work the snack bar. Publicity Maintain your team's section of the Web site. Player Administrators (P.A.s) Administer the mandatory play rule. We will train on all aspects of this job. It's a lot of fun since you will be on the sidelines watching all the action. Two P.A.s are required at each game. A total of 6 or more is recommended. Chain Crews Holding the first down markers on the sidelines at home games - 3 people (minimum age of 16) are needed. Videographer Game tapes are an important learning tool. Statistician The kids love to know the stats from the games and it's also a good tool for the coaches. Announcer Call the games over the P.A. system at home games. |
